Indicasan, 1995

Experimenting with new forms of seating, the chair applies Dr. Mandel’s principle of inclined seat to Indian squatting posture. The spinal cord remains erect due with the optimum inclination of 12.5 degrees. The form of the chair is also an experiment in fusion of eastern and western aesthetic traditions. The name is also derived from the word ‘Asan’ used in local language for seat.
